This is what we do.

1. WE ADVISE & IMPLEMENT: Strategy + Communications + Development

A. Strategic Communications + Transformation

We aren’t neuroscientists, but we understand the connection between narrative and understanding. Storytelling isn’t confined to the pages of fiction, and neither should your communications or transformation strategy. It is what determines the success of a new corporate strategy or government policy or the response to a crisis or the development of a community and client base. Business, society, politics and the economy are all downstream from culture. Culture, like all things, is best communicated through narrative. Because when you tell a story, you spark a connection. We’re your match.

D. Experience Design + Marketing + Activation

Print is so 2000 and late. In the 21st century of shrinking attention spans, the world demands interaction. Experiential marketing creates lasting impressions on consumers that they share with others, which enhances brand loyalty. We’re not going to tell people what your product and company can do to improve their lives, we’re going to have them experience it for themselves. We all want positive vibes and memorable experiences, and by building out experiences your market will never forget, we can build you into their life. Let’s get immersive.

We develop the hard and soft infrastructure for entrepreneurs, companies, and governments to thrive. We’ve got the blueprints, strategies, and experience to make that happen.

2. WE CREATE: Global Campaigns & Content That Raise Awareness + Change Culture

Current Campaigns

How Did We Get Here / How Do We Leave.

How did we get here and how do we leave is a raw and revealing campaign and event that aims to answer two questions: Why are people homeless? And how can we fix it?

Artist and provocateur Daniel Dart is no stranger to homelessness, having lived on the streets, eating in soup kitchens for over two years in his late teens and early twenties. It is with those memories, he went out to Skid Row in Los Angeles, to ask the people directly affected themselves.

Carrying nothing but a notepad and his cameras, Daniel headed out to ground zero of the homeless epidemic, Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles. This is what he found.

During his photo journeys and conversations he met people who’ve lost loved ones, who’ve lost jobs, who have addiction problems, and many who have mental health issues. To give a broader understanding to each individual during the exhibit, each photograph will be accompanied with text from the conversation, as well as data that explains the obstacles they face, whether it is access to mental health care, affordable housing, or job training.

To complement the exhibit, Daniel will host panel sessions with issue experts and media personalities, in the hopes that by bringing the two together, we can find a better way to communicate the problems of the homeless community and to establish the next steps we can take towards finding solutions that work for all.

Stateless: Stories From The Edge Of The World

A raw and revealing photographic story told by the refugees themselves. We will tell the stories of the young, filled with hope and promise, to the stories of the old, those who’ve been forgotten by the world.

Using Leica Sofort instant cameras - distributed to Sahrawi refugees themselves, all of whom have spent their entire life within a refugee camp - Daniel Dart & Team will document the differing perspectives of hope and frustration through the eyes of those who live them.

We will use the images in pop-up galleries at our partner venues and digital outlets to present the stories of the Sahrawi people and showcase them as equals - revealing their artistic abilities and highlighting their undeniable resilience. Together, we can elevate their voices and bring awareness to a situation that desperately needs it.

Diving into the rarely seen or photographed camps will serve to not only educate outsiders, but by using Soforts, we can provide these young people and their families with tangible pictures of their loved ones that they can touch and hold - many for the very first time, giving them a keepsake they’ll cherish for a very long time.

The Fight: Tunisia’s Battle For Democracy

coming soon:

A film by Daniel Dart & JIM ARKEDIS

In 2011, a fruit seller in southern Tunisia lit himself on fire in a public market and started a revolution. Uprisings spread across the Middle East - to Egypt, Libya, Syria, and beyond - in what and became known as the Arab Spring.

Today, much of the Arab Spring's promise has turned to bitter disappointment. But in Tunisia, there’s hope. Tunisians held elections, wrote a new Constitution, and won the Nobel Peace Prize for embracing democracy. Though terrorism, a stagnant economy, foreign influence, long-standing inequality, and brain-drain threaten its democratic progress today, Tunisians continue to fight for their right to free expression. This is their story; this is their fight to be free.

3. WE INVEST: To Create A Better Tomorrow

Entrepreneurs and small businesses are the backbone of developed and developing nations. Yet those in emerging markets face barriers such as access to financing, advisory services and regulation.

Through our unique on the ground understanding of emerging markets, particularly in conflict zones and fourth world economies, we aim to connect capital to individuals and their ideas in an effort to facilitate socio-economic growth.

We go where others won’t. DEC Ventures aims to be the foremost frontier market experts in the entire capital space, with an emphasis on pre-seed and early stage financing.

Talent is universal, opportunity is not.
